THE STORY
Fragmented infrastructure model.
THE STARTING POINT
Copperfin Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial institution, operated across four locations with a VMware environment that had become increasingly unstable and difficult to manage. Each site maintained its own vCenter, leading to fragmented control, inconsistent configurations, and limited visibility across the organization.
While initial efforts focused on resolving recurring vCenter failures and refreshing hardware at select sites, it became clear that a broader transformation was needed to stabilize operations and support long-term scalability.
THE CHALLENGE
-
Fragmented Infrastructure
Four separate vCenters created inconsistent configurations and limited oversight. -
Aging Hardware
Out-of-warranty systems increased operational risk and reduced supportability. -
Unsupported Platform
Outdated VMware versions introduced stability and security concerns. -
Recurring Instability
Frequent vCenter failures and host disconnections were disrupting operations.
THE SOLUTION
-
Environment Assessment
We evaluated all sites to identify root causes of instability and inefficiencies. -
Centralized vCenter Deployment
We consolidated four vCenters into a single platform for improved visibility and control. -
Infrastructure Modernization
Replaced aging hardware and aligned systems to supported VMware versions. -
Configuration Standardization
Our solution applied consistent configurations across all locations to improve stability.
